	Don&#39;t recognize the name? You may soon. Or, at least that&#39;s what the Chinese electronics company hopes.&nbsp;</p>

	The Creative Life (TCL) which recently bought the rights to Grauman&#39;s Chinese Theater for $5 million &ndash; (yes, it will be renamed the TCL Chinese Theater) &ndash; has announced a product placement deal to appear in the upcoming &quot;Iron Man 3.&quot;</p>
<p>
	Everything from Tony Stark&#39;s motion panel device to his smart TV and mobile handsets will be from the Chinese company.</p>
<p>
	Chairmain and co-founder Tomson Li told Bloomberg News at CES in Las Vegas last week their plan is to compete with big dogs, Apple and Samsung.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;I believe our new generation of products are as good as those from Samsung and Apple,&rdquo; said Li. &ldquo;This Iron Man cooperation is very useful for us to promote the TCL brand in the global market, including the U.S. and China.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	This isn&#39;t the first brand placement for the company though. According to TCL, they&#39;ve also done previous promotions with &quot;Transformers: Dark of the Moon,&quot; &quot;The Avengers,&quot; &quot;The Dark Knight Rises,&quot; and &quot;Cloud Atlas.&quot;</p>

	Chinese electronics maker TCL has hired another high-profile Hollywood name to help boost its international brand: Iron Man.</p>
<p>
	As part of a drive to raise its profile to compete with industry leaders Apple and Samsung, the Huizhou-based electronics company has announced that its televisions, cloud technology and mobile phones will be conspicuously employed by Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr.&rsquo;s billionaire superhero, in Disney-Marvel&rsquo;s upcoming Iron Man 3, which is set for release on May 3 in North America, China and other select territories.</p>

	The Iron Man product-placement deal comes fast on the heels of TCL&rsquo;s eyebrow-raising acquisition of the naming rights to the historic Grauman&rsquo;s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood last week. The Chinese company paid $5 million for the right to rechristen the city landmark the TCL Chinese Theatre.</p>

	&quot;TCL has attached great importance to the collaboration with Hollywood,&quot; CEO Zhao Zhongyao said in a statement. &quot;Through this cross-industry collaboration, we are looking at introducing our latest smart products to consumers from around the world via a wide range of different brand promotion activities associated with the Iron Man 3 theme.&quot;</p>

	But whether TCL is the only electronics company to score a product placement in the latest installment of the Iron Man franchise remains to be seen. In sneak-peak footage shown at Hong Kong&rsquo;s CineAsia industry event in May, Tony Stark could be clearly observed wielding a Samsung camera in one sequence. Samsung and Disney-Marvel&rsquo;s Chinese co-production partner DMG could not be reached for comment.</p>

	(Reuters) - Hollywood&#39;s landmark Grauman&#39;s Chinese Theatre has a new name after a Chinese company purchased naming rights to the famous movie house and tourist destination.</p>
<p>
	The one-time site of the Academy awards will now be called the TCL Chinese Theatre following a 10-year deal with Chinese TV maker TCL Corp, its owners said on Friday.</p>
<p>
	Opened in 1927, the building had been named for Sid Grauman, a Hollywood showman who helped finance the theater&#39;s construction. The theater hosted red-carpet premieres for &quot;The Wizard of Oz&quot; and other classic films and now is the site of about 40 movie premieres annually.</p>
<p>
	The landmark draws about 4 million viewers each year. It is fronted by an ornate Chinese pagoda and the hand and footprints of famous film stars captured in cement.</p>
<p>
	The deal with TCL will fund upgrades and preservation of the historic site, theater owners Elie Samaha and Donald Kushner said in a statement.</p>

	Chinese Brand Value Research set 2007, the year before the Financial Crisis, as a benchmark and analyzed the development of Chinese brands under the global economic downturn. During the worst global recession, the top 100 brands recorded cumulative revenue growth of 80.08% and cumulative growth in profit of 134.34% in four years, exceeding the growth of the brands&#39; revenues. In 2011, the brands&rsquo; operating revenue and operating profit increased by 23.51% and 27.83% respectively when compared with the previous year. The average profit margin of the 100 brands reached 9.51%, an increase of 2.2% percentage points compared with 7.31% in 2007. As the contract-manufacturing factories that work for oversea brands consecutively sank into the nightmare of bankruptcy, the Chinese top 100 brands on the contrary enjoyed a quite promising outlook.</p>

	An analyst of the Most Valuable Chinese Brands Evaluation pointed out that a number of Chinese brands made significant gains in brand value with the development of the internet and e-commerce while the global industry structure is being reorganized. The report shows that TCL sold 1,447,300 LCD TVs(includingcommercial displays) in April, up by 81.65% year-on-year, among which339,300 smart/network TVs and 145,900 3D TVs were sold; sales of mobile phone and other products reached 2,915,600 units,among which 367,200 smartphones weresold, representing a substantial year-on-year growth; air conditioner,refrigerator, washing machine sales stood at 472,300, 89,400 and 50,400 units, up by 37.92%, 35.51% and 4.87% respectively.</p>

	As for multimedia business, the company sold 4,732,700 LCD TVs from January to April, up by 69.73% year-on-year, far higher than average industry growth. In April, LCDTV sales grew markedly. TCL Multimedia Holdings sold 739,100 LCD TVs in China and 672,000 overseas, up by 33%and 190% respectively,among whichLED-backlit LCD TVs accounted for 72% of the total sales.
