Dynamic backlight technology
In 2007, TCL on its own successfully developed dynamic backlight adjustment technology, which can reduce more than 50% of LCD screen's energy consumption, thus solving a world class problem that hindered LCD TV's development. In April, 2007, this unprecedented technological achievement was successfully authorized to Renesas Technology in Japan which ranked top three in global semiconductor manufacturers, making TCL the first brand in China's TV industry to authorize a foreign-funded brand for a technology license. In 2008, second- generation dynamic backlight technology was invented and authorized to a Taiwanese company.

In 2008, the natural lighting technology, invented by TCL, brought the new trend of "green flat panel" into the tablet TV market which drew widespread attention in the industry. In the meantime, TCL continues the study of new "natural lighting" technology and has completed two versions of wide spectral samples that can fill the spectrum space with yellow light. And the subjective assessment of the wide spectral TV's video and image effect is underway. In order to counter the defects of the above-mentioned yellow light filling, the practice of filling green light is being conceived currently.

TCL's 3D LCD TVs have been adopted in Guangzhou airport and Shenzhen airport at present. Meanwhile, CBHD (High-definition Blue Ray Player) made its first appearance at the CES show as well, with a number of self-owned core technological patents and TCL having the leading role with the inventions. The openness of CBHD technology will help to realize mutual benefits for Chinese and western enterprises. Right now TCL's CBHD high definition player has the capability for mass production.

In 2009, TCL created the revolution of Internet TV in the flat panel TV industry. TCL Internet TV has a unique automatic update system developed by Huan TV, a joint venture established by TCL, Chang Hong and many other TV enterprises, which caused a change in the operating mode of the industry. Hence, the concept of TV had been changed, opening the era of Internet TV.
In June, 2010, TCL launched the first domestic Android-based smart TV, which is considered to have reached an advanced level in the world in the provincial assessment of scientific and technological achievement.
TCL's Decade Plan of applying a new generation of web TV based on LED backlight LCD TV technology to lead the global flat panel TV industry has come to fruition. All the advanced technology and hero products have prepared TCL for the leading role in the global flat panel TV industry for the next decade, which includes the three series of Mitv Internet TV and the first end of the production of a non-internet with a size of over 40 inches. Apart from the integration advantage of globalization, by which TCL could guarantee panels for the development of a new generation of Internet TV through the layout of LCD TV modules and panel business in an advanced position, TCL will also continue to reinforce its advantages in Internet TV's content resources and entertainment applications in order to enhance key competitiveness of the whole industrial chain.

LED-backlit LCD Television Technology
In August, 2009, TCL's 2.75D LED RGB dimming dynamic backlight control and image processing technology with independent intellectual property rights successfully passed the high-tech achievement assessment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in Shenzhen. This is the first domestic core display technology in the area of LED RGB backlight that has passed the national assessment of high-tech achievement with multiple test indicators reaching an international advanced level, which has promoted the technological research and development of large-sized LED TV backlight of China . This technology filled the gap of the TFT-LCD display backlight control in China and also enables the Chinese enterprises' major breakthrough in display core technology, thus pushing forward the domestic enterprises to move further in the upstream industry chain of LCD.

In 2008, TCL introduced ANDROID OS platform, aiming to widely apply this open, scalable and transplantable operation system to our products. After two years of research and development, TCL launched the first ANDROID-based MID product in October, 2010.
