2007

January 8, TCL's color TV core technology wins an Emmy Award, the first time any Chinese company has won the award.
February 8, TCL signs a three year cooperation agreement with the Chinese Tennis Association, making TCL the premier sponsor of the Chinese women’s tennis team.
February 14, TCL is designated a "Most Competitive Brand" by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
March 18, the four day "2007 TCL Golf Classic" came to its conclusion in Sanya, Hainan Province. The international tournament attracted 156 professional golfers, including many famous names in European golf.
March 24, the Chinese Communist Party's 4^th TCL Group Representative Conference was convened in Huizhou, and a vote resulted in a new Party Committee team headed by Party Committee Secretary Li Dongsheng.
April 11, TCL's independently developed "enhanced dynamic backlight control technology for LCD televisions and digital monitors" passed national new and high technology results appraisals, and successfully achieved technology transfers. This marked the first time the technology has been implemented in China or abroad, and puts TCL at the cutting edge of the international market.
June 18, TCL initiated its new brand strategy, giving the TCL brand the new meaning of "The Creative Life".
July, TCL's E72 color shell LCD TV won Germany's Red Dot award, receiving the 2007 award for product design.
October, TCL was named one of Fortune magazine's "2007 Most Admired Chinese Companies" .
November, Li Dongsheng, president of TCL, appeared at the French stop on the "Believing in Made in China – CCTV Chinese Economic Person of the Year World Lecture Tour", after being invited to give a speech at the event.
December 3, TCL Group announced a restructuring program for all member businesses operating under the TCL flag, through which the management of the group would be shifted to an investment holding management model. From January 1^st, 2008, TCL's new line-up will consist of four main industrial groups (multimedia, communications, appliances and components), in addition to the real estate, finance and investment business network and the logistics and service business network, forming a total of six major business units.
December 4, the brand value of TCL passes the RMB￥40 billion mark for the first time to reach ￥40.136 billion, an increase of nearly ￥4 billion, making the firm the “ number one brand in the national TV mechanism production industry”.
December 13, TCL president Li Dongsheng and his wife Wei Xue donate RMB￥8 million to establish the Huameng Fund, in order to provide financial support for education in deprived rural areas. This is the first public welfare fund of the "Hope Project" to be established personally by a Chinese businessperson.
December 19, TCL Group approves an additional stock issue plan with an overwhelming majority, raising up to RMB￥1.69637 billion.

2006

During March 16~19, the 3rd Session of the TCL Golf Classic was held in Sanya, Hainan Province, which further promoted the popularity and reputation of the TCL brand.
In July, Mr. Li Dongsheng, president of TCL Corporation, released the "Eagle’s Renascence" series articles, which clearly pointed out the direction for TCL’s new round of reform and innovative projects.
In mid-July, over 150 of TCL’s senior managers attended the "Visit Yan’an" conference and made an oath to “Make a Determination for Reform and Achieve a Global Leading Position" at the foot of Pagoda Hill.
On August 12, the TCL Corporation Corporate Culture Reform & Innovation Oath-taking Rally was held, which was another milestone for the TCL Corporation in promoting corporate culture innovation following those in 1998 and 2002.
In September, TCL held the 25th Anniversary Result Summary Conference in Huizhou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen as well as the 6th Session of Chorus Concert in turn, which showcased its huge achievements in the past 25 years.
During October’s National Day Golden Week , the TCL Corporation launched the Listening-on-the-National-Day project. Company president Mr. Li Dongsheng, as well as other senior managers, traveled to all the great shops at home and abroad to listen to what customers had to say face-to-face so as to understand their demands and to grasp the needs of the market.
On October 9, TCL initiated the Eagle Engineering Training Program, which followed the human resource strategy of "Pay attention to middle management and build up a highly effective middle management team". One hundred middle managers were selected to participate in the first round of the training program.
On November 8, TCL Group Finance Co., Ltd was established and announced its grand vision of "Establish a World Class Corporate Bank with an International Competitive Edge".
On December 5, China’s list of Top Valuable Brands was released. According to the data, the value of the TCL brand ranked 3rd at RMB 36.2 billion, having moved up from its previous ranking of 6th place in 2005.
On December 9, company president Mr. Li Dongsheng won “The Most Influential Enterprise Leader in China” again.

2005

The sales volume of TCL color TV sets ranked first place in the world.
On January 16, company president Mr. Li Dongsheng was honored as one of "Guangdong’s 2004 Top 10 Economically Influential Persons".
On March 20, the TCL Golf Classic was successfully concluded in Sanya, Hainan Province, which was the first golf competition to be named after a Chinese enterprise and sponsored with USD 1 million in the 43-year history of the Golf Europe Tour.
On April 11, Wu Guanzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC Central Committee, visited TCL’s King Inner Mongolia manufacturing base.
On May 23, company president Mr. Li Dongsheng was honored as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneur Leaders in China.
On June 11, TCL was honored as one of the 2004 Most Respected Enterprises in China.
On June 17, the 2005 report of the Top 100 Electronic Information Enterprises was released, ranking TCL at 3rd place.
In October, Guangdong province launched its famous brand strategy and recognized that TCL Corporation was ahead of 13 other enterprises in Guangdong, which are striving to enter into the world’s famous brand list.
On November 6, the 2005 China’s Top Valuable Brands report was released, which ranked TCL at 6th place with a brand value of RMB 33.666 billion.
On November 20, the TCL Corporation was bestowed the 2005 China Charity Award by the PRC’s Ministry of Civil Affairs and it was the only consumer electronics enterprise to win the award in that year.
On December 10, TCL signed an assets transfer agreement with France’s Legrand Corporation to sell the TCL International Electrical and TCL Building Technology, two of TCL’s corporate divisions.
On October 31st, the standing committee member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, vice-premier of State Department, Huang Ju, visited the TCL products in Shenzhen, and heard the report from president, Li Dongsheng.
December 4th, TCL Group and Toshiba Corporation("TCM")signed the Memorandum of Understanding to establish two companies, one manufacturing company mainly specializing in the manufacture of refrigerators and washing machines, and one sale company mainly in sale.
On November 8th, TCL Household Appliances and Qingdao Electric Appliance joint-founded TCL Refrigerator QingDao Industry Garden.
In December, president LiDongsheng was selected as global most influential Business Leader by American Time.

2004

On January 5th, LiPeng, Pre standing committee member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, pre-chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, visited the TCL Mobile Communication Company and TCL King-Huizhou production basis.
On January 29th,both of the important members of the government of China and France, Chairman of PRA, HuJintao, Premier of France, Lafalan, attended the signing contract ceremony for establishment of TCL-Thomson Electric Limited Company.
On January 30th, TCL Group was listed at Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
On February 6th, President LiDongsheng was commented as "Annual Economic Character in Asia, 2003" by international notable journal Fortune.
On June 2nd, TCL held a News Release Conference for Talents in GuangZhou, announcing that TCL would advertise for 2200 intermediate or high-level managerial and administrative personnel and Engineering persons who bears international background.
In June, TCL was selected as "the Most Prestigious Corporation of 2003-2004".
On June 9th, TCL won the special grade technological prize in Guangdong Province.
On June 30th, TCL was at third place and second place respectively on the list for the 50 biggest enterprises and the 50 biggest industrial enterprises in Guangdong.
On July 14th, TCL Group established TCL Household Electric Appliances (Nanhai) Limited Company in Nanhai, Guangdong Province and formally entered into small domestic appliance.
On July 29th, the biggest global colour TV corporation TTE CORPORATION (abbrev TTE) jointly-funded by TCL and Thomson in France opened cereminously.
On September 3rd, Chirac, President of France, interviewed president LiDongsheng at the office of the president, and awarded president Li the National Medal of Honor of France.
September 3ed, President Arluoyo of Filipine interviewed YuanXincheng, the high vice president.
On September 3rd, Philippine President Arroyo interviewed Yuan Xincheng, the senior executive vice-president in Beijing.
September 22th, TCL (Wuxi) Digital Industrial Garden made its ground breaking in National Hi-technology Industrial Development Zone.
On September 27th, TCL Communication Technological Holdings Limited Company was listed in main market of Stock Exchange of HongKong.
On October 10th, TCL Alcatel Mobile Phone Limited Company (TAMP) went into operation.
On October 31st, the standing committee member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, vice-premier of State Department, Huang Ju, visited the TCL products in Shenzhen, and heard the report from president, Li Dongsheng.

May - Purchasing American GO-Video Corporation through capital operation.
11 May - National People’s Congress chief Wu Bangguo visits Inner Mongolia TCL King Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd.
May - TCL Group was ranked fourth in the list of 100 largest Chinese electronic information enterprises, with a sales revenue of RMB 31.9 billion yuan (based on statistical criteria).
11 June - Member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, Zhang Dejiang paid a special visit to TCL, and planted a banyan tree to encourage TCL to continue to be big and strong.
8 July - Guangdong Provincial Governor Huang Huahua visited TCL and said "TCL’s experience of success is worth promoting."
31 July - Chairman Li Dong Sheng delivered an important speech on the "Dragon and Tiger Programme" which laid the foundation for the establishment of TCL’s international competitiveness
12 August - the Guangzhou Digital ROWA Techology Company, in which TCL has made an investment, was set up
31 August - Chinese President Hu Jintao visited TCL’s Nanchang TCL King Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd.
September - TCL Group’s overall listing proposal to acquire and merge with TCL Communications was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission
October - the Intel-TCL 3C Joint Laboratory was officially established.
4 November - TCL and Thomson Company of France joined forces to restructure their colour TV and DVD businesses, forming a colour TV enterprise with an annual production volume of 18 million.
5 December - the results of China’s Most Valuable Brand was announced. TCL’s brand equity was valued at RMB 26.712 billion, ranking sixth.

2002

2000 Restructured TCL Digital Science & Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. by acquiring the Wuxi "Hongmei" Color TV company . 2000 Restructured TCL Air Conditioner (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. by acquiring the Zhongshan "SOVA" Air Conditioner Company.
2000 TCL leaded tideway in the Color TV field by launching a series of New Concept TV.
2000 Ejiajia Net Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in Beijing, and the website www.ejiajia.com was accessed .

1999 TCL was certified by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce as a famous brand name in PRC.
1999 TCL proceeded his march into IT industry by investing in and holding controlling Goldtech Technology co., Ltd.
1999 TCL Information Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. was founded and Ms. Wu Shihong took up the postion of general manager, who had been the former general manager of Microsoft Company in China.
1999 TCL Appliances Co., Ltd. of Mongolia was founded on the basis of former Mongolia Rainbow TV company, which offered a good channel to reform the old state-owned enterprises.
1999 Mr. Li dongsheng , TCL president, made a speech naming " Our Goal is to Create a World-class Chinese Enterprise ",which is the first time to formally advocate the aim to be the world-class enterprise .
1999 TCL Information Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. was established.

1998 The Package Agreement on Authorized Export Seller’s Credit Line of RMB 2 Billion was signed between Import and Export Bank of China and TCL, which provided TCL with great financial support in exploring the overseas market and enhancing its competitiveness.
1998 Establishment of TCL Hyper Power Batteries Inc.
1998 Establishment of TCL-GVC Computer Technology Co., Ltd. with Taiwan GVC Computer Company, thus moving into the information industry.

1997

1997 The Company was restructured into TCL Holdings Co., Ltd. after the revocation of three above subsidiaries.
1997 TCL became the first enterprise to manage state-owned assets under the authorization of Huizhou government.
1997 Establishment of Henan TCL-Meile Electronic Co., Ltd. with Henan Meile Electronic Group, another leading enterprise in the electronic industry in China.

1996 Acquisition of Hong Kong Luk’s Enterprise in the color television project, which was the first state-owned enterprise to acquire Hong Kong equity.
1996 TCL was listed as one of the 300 key state-owned enterprises ratified by the state Economy and Trade Commission and the People’s Bank of China.

1995 Company was restructure into TCL Holdings Group Ltd. with 3 subsidiaries of Telecommunication Group, Electronic Group and Yuntian Group.
1995 TCL Telephone was honored as the "China Telephone King" by the Market Economic Research Institute, Development & Research Center of State Council.

1994 Launch of the first cordless telephone product in China.

1993 TCL extended its presence into the electrical components field and then set up TCL International Electrical Appliance (Huizhou) Co., Ltd..
1993 TCL Electronics (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. was established.
1993 Listing of TCL Telecommunication Equipment Co., Ltd. on Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the first telecommunication terminal producer in China that went on public.

1992 Successful launch of TCL brand big-screen color TV on the domestic market, and introduction of CIS system which made TCL turn into one of the first state-owned enterprises in China to introduce CIS system.

1991

1991 Establishment of the first branch of its national sales and service in Shanghai, later on in Ha’erbin, Xi’an, Wuhan and Chengdu, thus forming the primitive shape of TCL nation-wide distribution network.

1989

1989 TCL telephones ranked first among telephone producers in terms of sales volume in China (up to now).

1986

1986 Registration of TCL trademark in the Trademark Office of State Administration Bureau of Industry and Commerce.
1986 Development of the first hand-free, touch-tone telephones in China under the brand of TCL, passing the quality testing.

1985

1985 Incorporation of TCL Telecommunication Equipment Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Hong Kong investor.

1981

1981 Incorporation of TTK Household Electronic Appliance Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Hong Kong investors, and one of the first 12 joint ventures in China, to manufacture cassettes.

1980

1980 Huiyang Electronic Industrial Company was set up on the basis of Huiyang Electronic Department of Machinery Bureau, , thus starting the early establishment of a business.
