Reporting to the General Manager, RAC & HVAC, the Director of Product Planning will be responsible for leading TCL Comfort & HVAC’s product strategy and pipeline for the RAC (Retail) and HVAC (B2B) businesses. This position will drive the development and execution of market-driven product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with channel demands and corporate objectives while supporting the Sales team and GM in Sell-In. The Director will drive strategic product development that supports channel breakthroughs by delivering competitive and innovative product offerings that optimize revenue growth, enhance market penetration, and strengthen the TCL brand through customer-centric and data-driven decision-making.

This position will work cross-functionally with Product Operations (U.S. & China), R&D, Design, Sales, and Marketing, and our Channel Partners to ensure a market-competitive product portfolio through NPD, impactful new product introductions, and actionable product insights supporting current and future business expansion.
 

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead RAC and HVAC product portfolio development, including product strategy, roadmaps, and lifecycle plans, including end-of-life transitions, aligned with business goals and market opportunities.
  • Own RAC and HVAC product planning and new product introduction (NPI) activities in collaboration with Sales and Channel Partners as well as R&D, design, and quality teams both local and abroad; scope new product development (NPD) opportunities; develop local lineup strategies, product positioning, and pricing logic by customer and channel.
  • Provide executive management with detailed product plans, market trend insights, competitive benchmarking, and business case development to support decision-making.
  • Establishing and achieving product-related short- and long-term target revenues, price, and quantity, driving optimal cost/price and volumes.
  • Act as the RAC and HVAC segment expert, consolidating analysis of industry trends, regulatory updates, competitor moves, pricing insights, and consumer/buyer behavior across relevant categories.
  • Support Key Account Managers in product sell-in efforts, assist in developing channel and flooring strategies for new product launches, and prepare for product line reviews.
  • Coordinate with global HQ, local HQ, factories and Sales to ensure that U.S. market requirements are incorporated into product development and lifecycle management activities.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional alignment, promoting a culture of teamwork, transparency, and continuous improvement in product planning and execution.
     

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or equivalent, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, product planning.
  • Prior experience working for HVAC, Appliances manufacturers is required.
  • Proven ability to translate data from multiple sources into sales analytics and business insights.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with cross-border teams (including U.S. East Coast, West Coast and China-based teams).
  • Must have the ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Travel <25%

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8 hour shift
