HDR
This stands for HIGH DEFINITION RANGE. It increases detailed imagery, enhances brightness and an unparalleled color range. It promotes a truer to life color image, the way we see color in nature for example.
Local Dimming
Gives precision lighting control and brightness enhancement which providing the best contrast ratio. This is important because with modern LEDs the LED light shines through the LCD screen to give pixels their colors. Every now and again the light shines through very small spaces where it shouldn’t, this creates a halo around the darker areas of the screen. Local dimming switches off individual clusters of pixels to maintain the integrity of the black color and the brightness of the white.
Quantum Dot
Enhances picture quality and color volume. This happens by different light hitting the LED lights in LCD screens. These LEDs in most LCD screens emit a white light, in quantum dot versions, the light is blue.
The blue LED light drives the blue colors present in the picture. However, reds and yellows are created with quantum dots. The technology of quantum dots is actually very simple. They only emit one color. When light hits the dot is very effectively emits this color.
Quantum dots are minuscule. Their job is very specific and that job determines their color. There are two sizes of dots on these TVs. The large dots glow red and have a diameter of about 50 atoms. The smaller dots glow green and have a diameter of about 30 atoms. How many are present is a quantum dot tv you ask? Billions!
Wide Color Gamut
It provides picture quality with richer and more natural colors expanding the color spectrum. In short, your blues are bluer, greens are greener, etc. It allows the TV to display more colors. A wide color gamut begins by making the palette deeper. It then enhances the secondary colors such as the canyons, magentas, yellows, etc. This color explosion was too deep for HDTV but with HDR the color experience is second to none. The next thing Wide Color Gamut provides is a wide bit depth. This is an increase in the steps a color can take. When you have more shades of the one color, the color itself is intensified. An HDTV has a capacity to emit 16.7 million colors. An HDR TV has the capability to emit over 1 billion.
harman/kardon Speaker
TCL partnered with one of the world’s leading audio providers to bring you an unparalleled sound with a premium built-in design. They have an exceptional reputation in entertainment systems for their quality and ingenuity. Their legacy dates back the 1970s. harman/kardon was the market leader in bringing high current capacitors that could hold a charge which allowed a unit to push out sudden heavy base notes delivering the best quality base to the speakers without blowing them up, which is what would happen in a lesser quality brand.
Dolby Atmos
The Dolby Atmos system delivers a realistic and immersive sound experience that directs audio all around you, bringing the life of the theatre into your home. It is a 3-dimensional system that makes you feel as though the audio is moving through and around you, giving the feeling that you are right in the middle of the action. In the past, there have been superior sound encounters but Dolby Atmos takes it to the next level. Imagine the vision of a helicopter in a movie swooping in the overhead of the camera. You will now not only see in that way but here is that way – overhead.
Art design
Featuring the edgeless and one-piece body, your viewing experience will truly be enhanced by this design technology. In 2018, TCL also unveiled its new TV product series - the stunning Living Window.
