TCL has once again been crowned the Global Top Android Smart TV brand and Global No.2 LCD TV Brand in 2021 by Omdia.

TCL’s success can be attributed to the fact that it was the leading brand pioneering the advancement of Mini LED TV technology. Other brands are just starting to develop this cutting edge technology while Mini LED has been utilized in many TVs under TCL’s product line, namely the C825 4K QLED Mini LED Android TV. With a full-array Mini LED, each individual pixel-sized LED light source is precisely controlled to deliver deeper blacks, brilliant brightness and great contrast.

According to Omdia Global TV Design and Features Tracker report, the global smart TV set shipment was 189.0 million units in 2021. In which, Android-based (including AOSP/Android Open Source Project) smart TV shipment accounted for 73.2 million units. Having shipped 15.1 million total units, TCL was the No.1 Android OS smart TV brand representing a 20.7% market share in the global market.

In another Omdia Global TV sets report, the global LCD TV set shipment was calculated to be 207.0 million units in 2021. TCL’s LCD TV shipment accounted for 24.6 million units, representing an 11.9% market share in 2021, making TCL the No. 2 LCD TV brand in the global market.
