On the eve of Global Recycling Day, celebrated on March 18th, TCL is proud to help raise awareness around reducing, reusing, and recycling waste.
As a leading consumer electronics brand, TCL is committed to sustainability and we’re doing our part to reduce, reuse and recycle, in many areas of our business.
One of TCL's primary initiatives is offering national free electronic waste recycling resources, making it easy for anyone to safely and conveniently recycle or reuse their old electronics.
TCL has provided the public a great way to dispose of their old electronics through our award-winning TCL Take Back Tour, which even continued through the pandemic and won the recognition of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
To date, TCL has actively been involved in recycling over 150 million pounds of electronics. To put that into perspective, TCL has recycled 7,800 miles worth of electronics—roughly the distance between Los Angeles and New York… three times!
Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our manufacturing processes as well, from using recycled materials and reducing energy consumption at global facilities. TCL is also committed to reducing our carbon footprint by designing products with energy-saving features.
In 2022, TCL created its global TCL Green initiative, where over 1,000 upcycled and discarded electronic circuit boards were used to create a stunning art installation. The goal was to illustrate the significance of sustainability and inspire more people to make the change that is needed now.
TCL has also added How2Recycle labels on TV, sound bar, and appliance packaging, letting users know what materials can be recycled and reused, further eliminating unnecessary waste.
These milestones are of course just the beginning. Throughout National Recycling Week and beyond, we encourage you to visit our electronics recycling resources and join TCL in reducing waste, promoting sustainability, and empowering others to recycle.
