Position Summary:

The Demand Planning Director owns the demand planning and forecasting processes and output for TVs, Soundbars and Home Appliances for all TCL retail customers. The Demand Planning Director will have leadership responsibility for the TCL Demand Planning Managers.

The Demand Planning Director will develop process and tools for TCL to develop the demand plan for customers and track sell-thu and sell-in actuals vs. plan. He/she will provide direction and organization to the Demand Planning team. The demand planning team will work closely with the TCL sales team and assigned TCL retail customers to build the demand plan for TCL’s business with the customer. Demand plans will be constantly adjusted based on sell-thru historical performance, market conditions, supply capabilities, competitive insights and promotional roadmaps. The Demand Planning Director will also work with the TCL supply planning team to understand, and plan based on TCL’s ability to supply vs. demand. The position will include leading internal PSI meetings as well as leading customer CPFR meetings. The position is responsible for process, key reporting, and continuous improvement. This position will report to the SVP – Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Demand Planning team of Demand Managers
  • Develop the TCL demand planning process for the TV, Soundbar and Home Appliances
  • Leadership of weekly/bi-weekly CPFR calls with our major retail customers
  • Create and maintain a rolling sell-in and sell-thru forecast
  • Collaborate with sales managers and directors to build and adjust demand forecast
  • Leadership in monthly internal PSI meetings
  • Monitor inventory levels, sell-thru performance, and market conditions
  • Conduct regular meetings with the TCL supply and order management team
  • Preparing and presenting agreed-upon forecast to a variety of stakeholders
  • Assist in GTM and customer strategy

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least five years’ experience in forecasting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Strong computer related skills, including Microsoft Suite, are required
  • Strong analytical skills including large volumes of data and business insights are needed
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with confidence at all levels of the organization
  • Must possess detail orientation, solid execution capabilities, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines with appropriate priorities
  • Work effectively and collaboratively across departments and functions
  • Experience of working in and collaborating effectively in multi-site, virtual and cross-cultural contexts
