This week TCL was honored to partner with the Anaheim Ducks to spread joy to local underserved kids. Children from low-income families were able to take part in the organization’s annual Target shopping spree, where kids scoured shelves for much-appreciated clothes, toys and other items for themselves and their families, ultimately getting a Christmas they otherwise would not have enjoyed.
Along with the NHL team’s players and the Lady Ducks – comprising of the wives and significant others of Ducks players, coaches, broadcasters and management – the shopping spree was to support students enrolled in programs at the Santa Ana, CA-based nonprofit organization, The Wooden Floor. This organization’s mission is to transform the lives of young people in low-income communities through the power of dance and provide them with access to higher education.
In addition to receiving incredible gifts, children were excited to be accompanied by Ducks players, which included Jakob Silfverberg, Ryan Kesler, Rickard Rakell, Josh Gibson, Josh Manson, Jacob Larsson and rookies Carter Rowney and Kiefer Sherwood. These athletes were happy to act as personal shoppers for a day, assisting kids as they made their way through the store aisle-by-aisle. They even donned Ducks holiday sweaters to complete the festive theme!
As an Anaheim Ducks partner, TCL was eager to take part and make the holidays bright for The Wooden Floor youth and their families. Not only did we help to support their Target shopping spree, but each child was surprised with a 40” Smart TV featuring stunning high definition resolution and seamless access to over 500,000 streaming movies & TV episodes. After all, the gift of endless entertainment is something each family will enjoy over the holidays and beyond.
