Miami Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry and Los Angeles Running Back Melvin Gordon have been competing all season long in TCL's 4K Football Challenge. While the players’ charities and fans have enjoyed the chance to win 4K HDR TVs, the players recently competed in one extra challenge – going head-to-head in a game of Madden.
Madden NFL is one of EA Sports’ most popular eSports titles and it was the perfect way to test these players’ gaming skills. Both Gordon and Landry have been gamers since childhood and use their time away from the field to continue their lifelong passion for gaming.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen pro athletes test their abilities in the virtual realm. LA Galaxy soccer players including Gyasi Zardes and Ariel Lassiter recently took to TCL gaming TVs to celebrate the launch of FIFA 18. It was the very first eSports tournament in FIFA 18 and allowed gamers to get a little closer to living their athletic fantasies.
For the NFL stars, TCL Roku TVs provided vibrant colors, striking contrast, and fluid gameplay. Both Gordon and Landry competed on C8-Series TVs, which offer low-input lag, wide color gamut, and Dolby Vision HDR. This level of performance ensured the players stayed immersed in the game.
In the end, there could be only one winner, and when this NFL rivalry went virtual it was Melvin Gordon that came out on top. Be sure to enter the 4K Football Challenge for your chance to win a gaming TV of your own!
