With abnormally high winds blowing gusts of up to 60 mph, last weekend’s game pitting Army against Air Force proved to be one of the more dramatic stops on the Wendy’s College Tailgate Tour thus far. Many brands, vendors, and tailgaters, were hampered by safety concerns, but that didn’t stop the gameday excitement.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the TCL eSports Lounge proved to be a welcomed refuge from the cold, windy weather conditions. As game time approached, the traffic through the Lounge increased dramatically, prompting some intense gaming action from Army and Air Force fans alike!
In addition to enjoying live sports and gaming on TCL Roku TVs, tailgaters were given the chance to meet former Denver Broncos wide receiver, Ed McCaffrey. While Ed was in the TCL eSports Lounge, he took photos with fans and signed autographs under our C8-Series smart TV, which gave everyone a chance to catch-up on other live sports while waiting to meet the retired football pro.
Located in the heart of Falcon Alley – Air Force’s Fan Zone – and just outside the stadium, the TCL eSports Lounge hosted thousands of fans and cadets ahead of the game. Once action got underway, fans were treated to a hard-fought game.
Going into the matchup, the Air Force Falcons had a 306-game scoring streak – the fifth-longest scoring streak in the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision. Meanwhile, the Army Black Knights aimed to extend their success this season to capture the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, which they haven’t won since 1996. Army’s flawless defense kept the Falcons at bay, leading to the Black Knight’s first win at Falcon Stadium since 2005. In the end, it was a 21-0 shutout win for Army.
The tailgating fun continues this Saturday when the Florida Gators take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. If you’re attending, stop by the TCL eSports Lounge for the ultimate tailgating experience!
