Ole Miss has one of the richest tailgating traditions in college football, so perhaps it’s no surprise that our recent visit turned out to be one of the busiest stops on the Wendy’s College Tailgate Tour. Nearly 1,300 fans came through the TCL eSports Lounge for pre-game fun, making it the second highest traffic stop on the tour so far.
The lounge was placed in a prime location along one of the major thoroughfares to the stadium, just in front of the University of Mississippi’s basketball stadium. It was also located in the heart of the Grove, the iconic 10-acre space that transforms into one of the most distinctive tailgating parties in the country on every gameday.
Fans may have been fashionably late to the Grove when Louisiana State University came to take on the University of Mississippi, but when they did arrive they did so in droves! The one-of-a-kind tailgating experience at Ole Miss was enhanced even further by the chance to play Madden NFL on our award-winning gaming TVs, try out a virtual reality experience, and catch up on other live sports inside the TCL eSports Lounge.
LSU’s visit to Ole Miss not only brought about some great tailgating, but it also provided fans with a great afternoon of football. Ole Miss came into the game with a solid record (3-4, 1-3) helped by a strong passing offense, but struggled to get through LSU’s incredible defense on this particular day. In the end, it was the LSU Tigers that triumphed over the Rebels 40-24.
We invite you to keep following us on our next college tailgating stop! Keep checking back on this blog for more from the tour.
