Football fans braved wet, gloomy weather to see Pittsburg vs. Syracuse this past weekend. It was a stormy Saturday in upstate New York, but that didn’t seem to deter thousands of diehard football fans who turned out for the game.

Both teams came into the contest with a record of 2-3. Undoubtedly, each were looking to turn a corner and capture some much-needed momentum that would carry them to additional success this season. The Panthers were 4-0 against Syracuse since both teams joined the Atlantic Coast Conference, but after two tough road games, Syracuse hoped to gain traction at home at the Carrier Dome.

Ahead of the kickoff, tailgaters were a bit hampered by rain. However, many still visited the TCL eSports Lounge for their chance to play Madden NFL on Xbox, watch live sports, or just get a reprieve from inclement weather.

Pitt at Syracuse

While visiting the lounge, many fans took the opportunity to enter the exclusive on-site sweepstakes for their chance to win a 55P607 – the ultimate TV for sports, gaming, and entertainment. In fact, this stop has garnered more entries than any other stop on the Wendy’s Tailgate Tour!

When it was finally game time, Syracuse’s performance kept their bowl hopes alive! The Orange had a strong start, but it was their defense late in the game that stymied Pittsburgh's offense and allowed Syracuse to hold on to beat Pitt 27-24. It was also Syracuse’s first win over the Panthers in five years.

Stay tuned for more as we continue our Tailgate Tour when Ohio State takes on Nebraska on Oct. 14.
