Disney+ on TCL TVs – The Ins and Outs
一月 12, 2020

Walt Disney Studios has recently launched Disney+, a brand new streaming service that gives you ad-free access to pretty much all the movies and TV shows from Disney’s back catalogue and original programs exclusive to Disney’s studio. Since Disney owns quite a few other companies, there’s also material from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and 20th Century Fox.

What better way to celebrate the purchase of your new TCL TV than to sign up with Disney+?

Why get Disney+?

If you’re a Disney fan or you have kids then it’s a no brainer. For just $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year you get all of Disney’s content, plus lots of other shows, in one convenient place.

Disney’s content is PG13 or softer, so you can plonk the kids down in front of the TV and let them choose what they want from a wide range of titles. But after they’ve gone to bed, you can indulge in your Marvel films or check out the new Star Wars spinoff Mandalorian, so everyone’s happy.

If you want to give it a try before committing, there’s a 7 day free trial with no obligation to sign up after that.

Features of Disney+

Disney+ gives you ad-free playback with up to four concurrent devices in UHD 4K and HD 1080p/Dolby Vision on selected content and compatible devices.

The lineup of devices includes:

  • Desktop web browsers
  • Mobile devices and tablets (Android and Apple).
  • Smart TVs (LG WebOS, Samsung Tizen, Android TV)
  • Boxes and game consoles (Apple TV 4th Gen and later, PlayStation 4, Roku, Xbox One)
  • Streaming devices (Chromebook, Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, Amazon Fire TV).

The service also includes unlimited downloads so you can watch on your phone or tablet via the Disney+ app anywhere, anytime without internet access. Great for keeping the kids entertained on long haul flights or road trips!

What can you see on Disney+?

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian is one of Disney+’s exclusive originals, and the Star Wars spinoff is already proving popular with fans and driving a lot of sign ups. The storyline is set five years after the Return of the Jedi and follows the life of a bounty hunter in the outer regions of the galaxy. The first season has eight episodes and a second season has been ordered.

Fox Movies and Shows

Disney bought 21st Century Fox earlier this year so you’ll also get access to a growing selection of Fox movies and TV shows on Disney+. They have exclusive streaming rights for The Simpsons, now into its 31st season, so you can watch all your favourite episodes. You can see the complete Fox line-up so far here.

Disney Movies

Disney+ gives subscribers access to thousands of Disney movies. There are forgotten live-action films from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and sequels of its most popular animated films. Now your kids can watch the same movies you watched when you were young, without you having to trawl through the internet to find them a decent version.

Marvel Movies

Although not all Marvel movies are on Disney+, there are a decent selection and rumours that there are more on the way. Check out this list of every Marvel movie currently available on Disney+.
