Watch the AFL and NRL Grand Final Weekend with TCL

Even with all the hype and excitement generated by Aussie sports, including the unprecedented amount of attention the Matilda’s received at the recent women’s Soccer World Cup, there’s still no day bigger in Australian sports than the Australian Football League Grand Final.

An iconic day that captures the attention of both die-hard AFL fans and those who don’t even know the names of any players in their home team. Despite the heated competition and the diversity of interest, it’s a day that brings the nation together in a way very few other national sporting events do.

This year, TCL is proud to be an official partner with the AFL Premier League, and as their new sponsor, delivering the best viewing experience of the Grand Final is a priority.

And to make this weekend even better, the National Rugby League grand final is also played on the Sunday of the same weekend, making the AFL and NRL Grand Final weekend an annual event everyone looks forward to.

Both codes are extremely popular among their fanbases, and both garner high viewership. AFL is considered our national sport as it’s not played at this level anywhere else, making it the most popular sport among Australians.

Rugby League is much more global and commands high viewership due to its popularity overseas as well as domestically.

Where and how you should watch the grand finals

Being an iconic Australian event, the entire AFL finals series will be free to watch on channel 7 and 7Plus on all devices. Additionally, if you’re on the go, you can also stream it live via the AFL Live Official App.

The NRL Telstra Premiership Finals Series will be broadcast on channel 9, 9NOW, Fox Sports, Kayo, and Sky NZ for New Zealand viewers.

Accessibility is essential to allow for maximum viewership if you’re not lucky enough to have scored tickets to see the games live. But some would even argue, that it’s better to watch the games at home on a large-screen TCL TV with all the functionality that allows you to witness the games in ways that only modern technology can provide.

And let's not forget the bonus of having your favourite people right there sharing the excitement of the biggest sports weekend in the country with you.

First, some details about the final series for both codes

The AFL Grand Final will be held on Saturday, September 30th. The location of the AFL Grand Final can vary from year to year. However, for the most part, it’s almost always played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and this year will be no different.

The teams competing in the AFL Grand Final will be determined through the final series, which includes the top eight teams from the regular season. This finals series spans over four weeks with qualifying and elimination rounds that are arguably just as exciting for some as the grand final itself, depending on which team you support.

Following the winner of the Grand Final will be the Brownlow medal presentation awarded to the “fairest-and-best” player for the entire season. The most prestigious individual award in all of Aussie Rules Football was named in honour of Charles Brownlow, who was not only a player, but an administrator for the Victorian Football League (VFL), and considered one of the chief pioneers of the great game.

The NRL Grand Final is without a doubt the most significant night of the year for Rugby League and will be held at the Accor Stadium in Sydney this year.

The NRL Grand Final features the top two teams from the National Rugby League's regular season, determined through a playoff series. Unlike the AFL final series, there will only be three weeks of qualifying and elimination games played leading up to the Grand Final on Sunday 1st of October.

And unlike the Brownlow Medal, the Clive Churchill Medal, introduced in 1986 after one of the greatest Rugby League players in Australian history, will be awarded to the best player or “the-man-of-the match” of the NRL Grand Final.

Both awards are the icing on the cake of a long, hard-fought season and finals series, and need to be witnessed in the best way possible, on a TCL TV.

How TCL has got you covered for both finals series

Watching the AFL and NFL Grand Finals on TCL TVs is a great choice for several reasons:

Picture Quality: TCL TVs offer excellent picture quality with features like Ultra High-Definition resolution, HDR10+ support and Clear Motion Rate (CMR), a feature that smoothens the fastest of on-screen action, eliminating annoying motion blur so that you can watch the game the way it’s supposed to be.

A TV like the TCL C845 Mini LED Google TV with a blistering 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) will make every mark, tackle, and kick so smooth, that you’ll feel like you’re at the game.

Screen Size Options: TCL offers a range of TV sizes, so you can choose the one that best fits your viewing space and preferences, from smaller screens to larger, immersive displays. This is even more important when you have all your friends over to watch the games.

Smart TV Capabilities: Many TCL TVs come with built-in smart TV platforms like Google, Roku or Android TV, giving you easy access to streaming services and apps for watching the games live or catching up later. It’s never been easier to tune in to the games with TCL’s endless accessibility options.

Affordability: TCL TVs are known for their competitive pricing, providing value for your money without compromising on quality. Watching the games in ultra-realistic quality has never been more affordable.

Dolby Atmos: To really experience the game at its most atmospheric, TCL’s Dolby Atmos sound transports you to the centre of the playing field, making you feel like you’re part of the crowd.

User-Friendly Interface: TCL's user interfaces are intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience while navigating through channels and apps.

Remember to choose a TCL TV model that suits your specific preferences and requirements to make the most of your AFL and NFL Grand Final viewing experience.
